What We Do

Turning Enterprise Information into Institutional Intelligence.

Future Synergies Group works with institutions that finance, develop, procure from, support and monitor enterprises. We turn scattered enterprise, portfolio and programme information into intelligence that decisions can rest on.

The Challenge

Enterprise information alone does not tell an institution what it needs to know.

Institutions across the enterprise development ecosystem already hold large volumes of information: funding applications, assessments, financial records, monitoring reports, supplier data and programme files. Collecting it is rarely the difficulty.

The difficulty is interpretation. Having information does not, by itself, reveal what an enterprise’s capability, readiness or resilience means for a particular decision, whether to fund, support, procure from or continue to monitor it.

Information can be extensive and still leave the central question unanswered.

Enterprise operations representing the subject of enterprise-level assessment

Enterprise Intelligence begins with the individual enterprise.

Enterprise Intelligence

Understanding an individual enterprise in depth.

Enterprise Intelligence brings structure to what is known about a single enterprise. Instead of treating information as a loose collection of records, it organises what is recorded against a consistent framework, so that the maturity, capability and readiness of that enterprise can be read coherently.

The intended value is a clearer understanding of the enterprise in front of a decision, one that supports appraisal and enterprise-level judgement. It does not, by itself, determine any outcome.

What it supports

Assessing enterprise maturity, capability and readiness.

Interpreting findings in the context of a specific decision.

Comparing an enterprise against a consistent frame of reference.

Portfolio Intelligence

Seeing a portfolio as a whole.

Where Enterprise Intelligence focuses on a single enterprise, Portfolio Intelligence focuses on the set. It draws on structured enterprise-level understanding to help an institution see patterns, differences and capability gaps across a portfolio of enterprises.

The intended value is a clearer basis for portfolio oversight: understanding how maturity and risk are distributed, where concentration or fragility may sit, and where attention may be most warranted. It supports oversight and prioritisation; it does not guarantee portfolio performance.

What it supports

Comparing enterprises against the same frame of reference.

Identifying patterns, differences and capability gaps.

Informing where attention and support may be most warranted.

A portfolio is more than the sum of its enterprises.

Programme workshop supporting enterprise development

Programme Intelligence is built around progress over time.

Programme Intelligence

Measuring what a programme is producing.

Programme Intelligence applies the same structured understanding to the enterprise development programmes an institution runs or funds. It supports programme monitoring, progress visibility, intervention planning and institutional reporting.

The intended value is clearer visibility of participation and progress, and a firmer basis for steering intervention and reporting. The framework describes what is being observed; it does not claim proven programme impact, and conclusions remain a matter of institutional judgement and evidence.

What it supports

Monitoring participation and progress across a programme.

Supporting intervention planning and programme design.

Structuring findings for institutional reporting.

How They Work Together

From enterprise-level understanding to programme-level insight.

The three offerings are complementary but distinct. Each answers a different question and serves a different decision, while drawing on the same structured understanding of enterprise maturity and risk.

01

Enterprise-level understanding

Begins with a single enterprise, reading its maturity, capability and readiness in depth.

Question answered: what does this enterprise’s information mean for this decision?

02

Portfolio-level visibility

Brings enterprises together and compares them across a set.

Question answered: what patterns, differences and gaps exist across the portfolio?

03

Programme-level insight

Connects enterprises to a programme and tracks participation and progress over time.

Question answered: how is the programme progressing, and where should it be steered?

Institutional Applications

Where enterprise intelligence applies.

Enterprise, portfolio and programme intelligence help institutional teams interpret enterprise information consistently and support the decisions in front of them.

Enterprise Intelligence

Applied to appraisal, support and enterprise-level decisions about an individual enterprise.

Portfolio Intelligence

Applied to oversight of a set of enterprises, where comparison and patterns across the portfolio matter.

Programme Intelligence

Applied to programme monitoring, intervention planning and reporting over time.

Scope. FSG provides structured intelligence and decision support. We do not provide funding, and we do not deliver services that have not been separately agreed.

Institutional Engagement

Discuss a potential engagement, demonstration or pilot.

If your institution finances, develops, procures from, supports or monitors enterprises, we would welcome a conversation about whether enterprise intelligence is relevant to your context, and what a sensible first step might look like.

01  A structured walkthrough of enterprise, portfolio and programme intelligence.

02  How the Enterprise Maturity Indicator supports institutional decisions.

03  A considered view of whether a demonstration or pilot fits your context.
